Professor H. Kent Baker of American University passed away on January 22, 2026, after a short illness. Kent was a strong supporter of all Finance Academics and regularly attended and supported the annual SFA meeting. He was an outstanding educator, a prolific scholar, and a good friend. He served as SFA President (2010-11) and was selected as the “SFA Distinguished Scholar” in 2019. He and his contributions to Finance will be greatly missed.
